Continental Knitting:

Learn to knit another way. Also known as picking your stitches. This is a handy technique to learn to help with knitting colorwork. You’ll have one color in each hand, and it will eliminate all the twists and turns that happen when you are switching colors.

Supplies:

50 yards of Worsted weight yarn (#4) light colored.

US size #7 needles, straight or circular, whichever you prefer.

Hand Knit Socks Rock!:

Wednesday July 5 & 19 6pm-8pm

Level: Intermediate and up
 

Choose your favorite way to work in the round on small projects.
This class will guide you through working a top down sock. If you're not comfortable using fingering weight yarn feel to use heavier yarn and make a boot sock.

Supplies:

400 yards of Fingering (sock) weight yarn. Or 350-400 yes of DK weight for a boot sock.

Needles US #1 (US #4 for DK weight) either a set of double points, magic loop (min length 32"), or two circulars (min 16", don't need to be the same length)

Ready Set Oops:

Wednesday August 16 6pm-9pm

This class will help you read your knitting, learn why gauge is important, fix some basic knitting mistakes, and how to put the stitches back on your needle in the right direction. Homework needs to be completed for this class.

Supplies: Crochet hook US G.

Homework:

Worsted weight yarn, US #7 needle

Cast on 24 stitches

2" in Stockinette stitch (Knit one row, Purl one row)

2" in K2, P2 ribbing

2" in Garter stitch (Knit on both sides)

1” in Stockinette stitch.

DO NOT BIND OFF. Leave work on needle.

Double Knitting:

Learn the basics of double knitting while making a pot holder.
A small manageable project that will be done in no time. Pattern will be provided in class.

Supplies: Two contrasting colors in worsted or DK weight, 80 yards in each color. Size US #5 or US #6 needle Stitch markers.

2 Color Brioche:

Learn two color brioche by making a hat. This is a nice small project that will help you learn the basics of two color brioche. No need to be familiar with single color brioche. Pattern will be provided in class.

Supplies:

100 yards each of two contrasting colors DK (#3) weight yarn.

US #5 16” circular needle.
